The 2010 NZ Pyranha Tekapo Throwdown was held last weekend (6th/7th of November) and 52 paddlers enjoyed the beautiful blue skies of the McKenzie country. This was the first year that the event has had NZ Pyranha as the major sponsor and they really added to the overall weekend. Participants played in the hole, trained on slalom gates, chased beach balls, tested their rescue skills and then got competitive and creative in the Slalom and Freestyle Competitions.

No one went home empty handed with heaps of schwag from Pyranha (Stickers, Key Rings, Sponges, T-Shirts) and 9 year old Ryan Bartlett from Queenstown went home ecstatic with his brand new Pyranha Molan given away with the support of Pyranha UK, which he won after a massive knock-out competition on Pete Simpson's Pyranha Wheel Of Fortune.

There were many other prizes throughout the weekend and we would love to acknowledge the support of Hydroscapes River Gear, Teva Footwear, Rasdex Equipment, Ems Power Cookies, and Alpine Springs Lake Tekapo

Monday Morning Motivation - Another clip that was shown at the Bliss-Stick Kayak Festival 2010. This edit was put together by Stephen 'Tig' Hogg using footage collected over the last few years by Dylan Thomson. Tig isn't a kayaker so the clip is a fresh take on some of the old classics like the Waikaia River, Nevis River, and Kawarau River.
